But, what if I fail?

“SUCCESS is stumbling from failure to failure with no loss of enthusiasm.”

Winston Churchill

How strangled I have been by the fear of failure.  Held ransom to perfectionism which then manifests as controlling bitch behaviour.  I suffer from a severe sensitivity to criticism; and as such, I need to ensure that all risk of failure has been mitigated before I move forward with anything.  I have lost countless opportunities; I’ve wasted many hours of energy and productivity and have still not always avoided failure.

It is an area that I have done a lot of work on in myself and am learning everyday to accept failure as part of the path to success.  It is an ongoing struggle; but with self-awareness and personal honesty it is a trait that has less and less of an ability to hijack my life.

I faced my greatest risk of failure when I chose to change career and start my own business.  The result of this decision was not without failure.  But, these failures led to personal growth as well as changes for my business and my life that have improved my journey; but would not have likely happened if I had found immediate success.
